BARRA GRANT
BARRA GRANT (Playwright and Director) is a native New Yorker whose mother, Bess Myerson, was the first and only ever Jewish Miss America. Barra is an award-winning actor, writer, and director. She has written and directed the feature films Love Hurts, starring Richard E. Grant and Carrie Anne Moss, and Life of the Party starring Eion Baily and Ellen Pompeo. Both films now screen on major cable networks. She is the author of the book Jane Smith aka Thistle Fabuloso, a humorous and moving story about childhood depression, available on Amazon. Her play A Mother, A Daughter and a Gun was performed in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, starring Olympia Dukakis. Her one-woman show, Miss America’s Ugly Daughter has been performed in several venues in Los Angeles as well as Off-Broadway in New York City. Her most meaningful production has always been her daughter, Samantha Reilly, an artist.
